Sandeela Kanwal Balks at Arranged Marriage, Winds Up Dead

A Georgia man of Pakistani descent allegedly killed his 25-year-old daughter over the weekend when she objected to an arranged marriage to a man she hadn’t seen in months. According to ABC News, 56-year-old Chaudhry Rashid was scheduled to be arraigned today on charges of strangling his daughter Sandeela Kanwal. Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at Radhid’s home Sunday and found Kanwal dead upstairs.

Atlanta, Georgia earned this nickname after it became a Mecca for hundreds of thousands of small town gays and lesbians fleeing their rural roots. Fortune 500 corporations made Atlanta their headquarters, which provided the jobs, and urban flight by the heterosexuals provided the affordable inner city homes.
